MIRRORS

The mirror is a functional objects. This object is used to see oneself, the best object to make sure something fits. It is intrinsically linked to jewelry so naturally Ligia Dias came to work on this object. In her hands the mirror intentionally remains functional but it is also an object charged of references to the work of artists and designers that influence her practice : MARCEL for Marcel Broodthaers, COCO for Gabrielle Chanel, BOB for Robert Morris, or After FRANZ in tribute to the work of Franz West. With this series Dias is adding a stone to the pantheon of her ideal mentors. It is made with love and respect. Every single objects signed by Ligia Dias is handmade by Dias in her studio in Geneva.
