PAPER DRESS is a retrospective of selected works. The paper dress - shape which evokes my connection to fashion, proposes an alternative to the classic portfolio format. Paper dresses flooded the American market from 1966 to 1968. Disposable paper dresses first appeared in the United States when they were produced by the Scott Paper Company to promote their products. Paper dresses were aimed at a consumer audience that was already using cups, plates, napkins, tablecloths and many other daily disposable items. Poster dresses were made for the 1968 U.S. presidential election campaigns. The earliest known paper garments (kamiko) were usually made from washi paper by Japanese artisans in the 10th century BC
